MedBEESinessHubs team in Lebanon is equipping beekeepers with guidelines for sustainable and socially responsible BEESinesses

 Within the MedBEEsinessHubs project funded by the European Union under ENI CBCMED Program, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Zahle and the Bekaa in Lebanon is organizing a 4-day workshop on business management and finance, from 19 till 30 January 2023.  

The objective of this  training is to enhance the business and financial management capacity of Lebanese beekeepers and provide them with guidelines for sustainable and socially responsible business.

The beneficiaries will participate in different sessions covering updated global trends and tools that could help them in preparing a business plan, set their business sustainable strategy, position their products in the market and pitch their bee-products ideas in front of investors for funding opportunities.

The workshop is divided into two parts:

First part includes the delivery of 3 online sessions through Zoom platform from 4pm to 8pm and covering the following topics:

·         Global Trends and Developments in the Food Sector

·         The new consumer (profile & characteristics)

·         Design thinking

·         Social entrepreneurship

·         ESG & SDG

·         Role of collaboration and cooperatives for bees’ products

·         Starting the Business Plan: Strategy & Positioning

·         Market positioning for competitiveness

·         Packaging trends & labeling

·         Business Model Canvas

·         Understanding Financial Statements

·         KFI

·         Costing and pricing strategy

·         Funding opportunities

·         Investment decision making

 

 

The second part is an in-person training that will take place at Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture – Beirut and Mount Lebanon from 8:30 am to 15:30 pm and includes the following topics:

·         Impact measuring (EDILE Tool)

·         Public speaking techniques

·         Pitching techniques

·         Pitching competition
