The MedArtSal project at the EU Green Week 2022: an event to promote its best practices in the sustainable development of the artisanal salinas
On next Friday, 3rd June at 11h30 (CET), the MedArtSal project will host an event during the European Green Week (https://ec.europa.eu/environment/eu-green-week-2022_en) on the sustainability of food systems. IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation in collaboration with University of Cadiz and Fair trade Lebanon as partners of the project organized this online event to offer the project the opportunity to showcase its experience in the artisanal salinas in four Mediterranean regions (Italy, Spain, Lebanon and Tunisia.
The project will have the chance to describe its efforts for the development of a sustainable and adaptable management model, fostering the territorial valorization of an important man-made coastal ecosystems, through its concrete support on economic, environmental and governance issues.
The session will include an open discussion with salinas owners, experts and MedArtsal partners on the potential role of artisanal salinas in ensuring sustainable food systems.
