Med4Waste in Jordan promotes sustainable cooking through an online webinar

With the help of cooking professionals, an online session will be held to teach people how to reduce their food waste and make the most out of the food they have. The classes can be designed to teach a variety of skills and techniques, such as meal planning, storage tips, and how to use all parts of the food, including the parts that are often thrown away. Multiple recipes can be included from different Mediterranean countries.

The upcoming webinar will highlight the various strategies for reducing food waste. Attendees can look forward to a range of informative sessions, including demonstrations on food waste reduction techniques, cooking methods, and composting. One of the main objectives is to promote Circular Economy and raise awareness about the 5Rs—Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot—in households, empowering individuals to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. Additionally, the webinar will introduce the concept of the Zero Waste approach at a household level, promoting a mindset that prioritises waste reduction and mindful consumption. Participants will have the opportunity to learn effective composting methods and receive practical tips to implement in their daily lives. To ensure a lasting impact, the event organisers will create archival videos, allowing attendees to access valuable information for future reference and sustainable learning, reinforcing the mission of reducing food waste and its environmental impact.

This event is part of the Med4Waste capitalisation projects’ awareness-raising campaign which aims to promote the promising outputs of the five capitalised projects that are funded under the ENI CBC MED programme (Clima, REUSEMED, Med-InA, DECOST, and CEOMED).
