Lebanon: STAND Up! launches a call for consultants to develop a National Intellectual Property Rights report

Berytech, the Lebanese partner of the ENI CBC Med funded STAND Up! project, is developing a report on the state of play and the current Lebanese landscape regarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of eco-innovation in textile enterprises. In this context, Berytech have launched a call for consultants to develop a report on IPR to better protect eco-innovation within the clothing and textiles sectors and elaborate practical recommendations.

Thus, the report should focus on the textile and clothing sector and circular economy related innovations. The report will include due diligence, state of play, policy and ecosystem gap analysis, in addition to regulatory framework to consider on a regional scale, trends and emerging opportunities across the industry value chain and practical recommendations to foster an enabling environment to develop, protect and commercialize IP based innovations in the textile sector and grow this sector on a local and regional scale.

The consultant shall develop an action research and a practical report covering the following:

  • National diagnosis, mapping of the IPR’s system in the textile sector and particularly in relation with eco-innovation and the circular economy and gaps definition
  • Diagnosis of the innovation market and the role of IPs
  • Practical recommendations to foster an enabling environment to develop, protect and commercialize IP based innovations in the textile sector and grow this sector on a local and regional scale

The Consultant and his team will start the work after the validation of their offer by the contractor and shall coordinate with Berytech for the strategy and implementation along the whole process. All the deliverables will have to be presented in English and validated by the Contractor within 1 week after the submission, before moving to the next steps of the assignment.
