Italy: GIMED will gather 40 green entrepreneurs in a networking event with financiers in Sicily

GIMED is organizing a networking event to be held at Capo Peloro, located in one corner of the Sicilian island. Almost 30 green projects and start-ups with over 40 entrepreneurs will join the event that will be celebrated during two days, on the 8th and 9th of October. The Italian partner from GIMED, which is the Fondazione Comunità di Messina, has launched this fantastic joint session to create synergies and business opportunities between start-ups and by allowing face-to-face meetings.

To make it better, the attendants will have the chance to meet financial institutions and investors focused on social and green projects. In addition to this, financial institutions will take part of a roundtable to create a better connected investment eco-system and discuss guidelines for financiers to invest in social and green ideas aiming to tackle pollution and climate change challenges.

The financial institutions that will join the event are Sefea Impact, Sefea Holding, Fondazione con il Sud, Coopfond, Fondosviluppo, Cooperazione Finanza Impresa, Banca Popolare Etica, Lita.co, Microcredito per l'Economia Civile e di Comunione and Invitalia. During the event participants will create a poster with relevant information on their business idea, including targets, social and green impacts. 

With this creative activity, start-ups will have an opportunity to look for synergies in a visual way and create a marketplace os business to business support. At the same time, the start-ups will have the chance to physically meet the financial institutions that can support their green business ideas. The event will be held at the National Research Council (CNR) in Capo Peloro, located in the province of Messina.
