The INVESTMED project is committed to raising awareness of the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for entrepreneurs and the barriers they face in going through the various processes of registration. This consultation session engages national and international stakeholders around key challenges, opportunities and needs to enhance the IPR environment in each of the three countries.

Last month, the project held consultations with entrepreneurs to understand their perspectives on the IPR ecosystem in their countries. This next round will include public authorities and other ecosystem actors to understand the gaps further and find potential solutions to make the process smoother for entrepreneurs. The events are coordinated by project partner Beyond Group.

The first session was held on the 3rd May 2023 with participants from Lebanon with sessions for Egypt and Tunisia taking place soon after.

The key objectives of these consultation sessions are to:

  • Discuss matters pertaining to IPR from the perspective of entrepreneurial ecosystem actors
  • Understand the perception and awareness of IPR from ecosystem actors
  • Identify gaps and limitations in terms of IP

The results of the session will be used to generate policy recommendations for each country and also across the region.
