iHERITAGE project partners to review efforts in improving access and interpretation of UNESCO sites in 2nd Steering Committee

Following the project's first steering committee meeting in July, the iHERITAGE team is pleased to announce its 2nd Steering Committee Meeting with organized trips to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which will take place on November 22nd and 23rd, 2021, in Granada, Spain. This Steering Committee Meeting will be the first in-person meeting since the project's inception, bringing together the majority of partners in person while others who are unable to attend will participate virtually. The two-day event will begin on Monday morning in the heart of Granada with an institutional welcome by the hosts at El Legado Andalusi, followed by the Sicilian Tourism Department and Mr. Khaled ElSaadany, senior expert of the Joint Technical Secretariat and the first Committee discussions.  Later in the day partners will join a guided field visit to the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Alhambra and Generalife.

On the second day, after discussing various capitalization and financial topics at the steering committee meeting, partners will visit Granada's historic centre and Albaicin quarter, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Granada will assist partners in assessing and understanding the need for the integration of new ICT products, as well as how iHERITAGE will help improve access and interpretation of those sites and many others throughout the Mediterranean.

The meeting will be a great opportunity for partners to connect, review the project's progress and next steps in light of the project's last year of implementation, determine the course for the months ahead, and discuss the launch and progress of the various nations' Living Labs Programs.
