The launching event of the CLIMA project ("Cleaning Innovative Mediterranean Action: reducing waste to boost economies") took place in Sestri Levante (Italy) from 23^rd to the 25^th of January 2020. The event, hosted by the lead beneficiary Sestri Levante Municipality, saw the participation of the six CLIMA partners:

In Seville (Spain) researchers and technicians from Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Spain and Italy are exchanging experiences and learning best practices to reduce water insecurity by designing the most suitable systems to promote a sustainable agriculture. These are the joint challenges faced by MENAWARA (Non Conventional WAter Re-use in Agriculture in MEditerranean countries): a project produced with the financial assistance of the European Union under the ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme.

Andrea Vigevani is Secretary General at ICU - Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria, the Lead Beneficiary of PROSIM project, a ENI CBC Med project dealing with issues related to water losses due to non-efficient irrigation systems, limited reliance on non-conventional water (NCW), scarce capacities of institutions to enforce effective water management plans and lack of awareness of modern solutions at farm level.

What    is    MED-InA?  

A 2M€ European project funded    by    the    ENI    CBC    MED    program,    which    aims    at    implementing    a    "Zero    Waste"    strategy    in   3    municipalities:    Irbid    in    Jordan,    La    Marsa    in    Tunisia    and    the    selected    municipality    within    the    Ribera    Region    in    Spain    by:

The MED-InA project has been officially launched in the city of Irbid in Jordan. 

One of the main objective of PROSIM project is to strengthen cross-border cooperation, capacity building and engagement in sustainable irrigation water management of local partner institutions at Mediterranean basin level, by sharing and capitalizing know-how; providing mutual support in the implementation of innovative solutions. To reach this goal, the project foresees 5 thematic web talks on irrigation solutions to guarantee regular, remote technical exchange and support among partners.
