The Andalusian Public Foundation El legado andalusí (Granada, Spain), project partner of the iHERITAGE project, has proceeded to the elaboration of the first three entries corresponding to intangible heritage elements located in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia.

This contribution is aimed at achieving one of the most outstanding and ambitious results of all those that make up iHERITAGE: the elaboration of the first Register of intangible cultural Heritage of Mediterranean Countries which, under the acronym of REIM, will collect the largest possible number of intangible heritage elements from the project's six partner countries: Andalusia (Spain), Portugal, Sicily (Italy), Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon.

The REIM will consist of a comprehensive database giving access to and promoting ICH resources of participating countries already inventoried in local, regional and national registers created according to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage", adopted by the UNESCO on 17 October 2003.

The first three intangible elements chosen by El legado andalusí for inclusion in the REIM are Fiesta of the Patios in Córdoba (accession to the UNESCO list in 2012); Tamboradas drum-playing rituals in the town of Baena (Córdoba) (accession in 2018) and, for last, the revitalization of the traditional craftsmanship of lime-making in Morón de la Frontera, Seville (Register of Good Safeguarding practices). (Accession in 2011).

In order to carry out this task, El legado andalusí  has relied on the collaboration of the IAPH (Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage), which is the highest authority in Andalusia for the promotion, safeguarding and protection of Andalusian historical heritage.
