PROSIM Project activities include the elaboration of National Training Roadmaps on water use efficiency and non-conventional water solutions to spread knowledge and know-how to relevant local key stakeholders and actors in agriculture.

Four National Training Roadmaps were developed by Project partners in Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia and Sicily according to the country-specific context and to the most relevant challenges in irrigation. Major points of interest shown by the need analysis assessment and included in the Training Programmes are irrigation systems with non-conventional water, environmental and health aspects of wastewater reuse in agriculture, modern irrigation system with scheduling options and fertigation technologies.

Additionally to the National Training Roadmap the Project will produce training materials to be used to ensure knowledge transfer. The Project will test the National Training Roadmaps and the training materials on 80 participants among representatives of farmers associations and water usage associations.

At a second stage these actors will support around 240 farmers in testing and adopting innovative solutions on their plots to increase the water use efficiency. All the training activities will cover the second and the third year of the PROSIM Project.
