Ready to cross new frontiers in textile finishing? This is the question that will be answered by the participants of the seminar and matchmaking meeting organized by Textile Technical Center (CETTEX), as a partner of the EU-funded TEX-MED ALLIANCES project. This event will take place Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 9:00, am to 2:00 pm at Technological Resources Center-CETTEX-Monastir, Tunisia.

The textile and garment industry has changed considerably during the last decades. Textile producers, in European countries, have invested in new high-performance technologies to produce high value-added products. This technological gap between these countries and those of the south of the Mediterranean basin has an important impact on the competitiveness of textile companies forced to import better materials to feed production lines to achieve high-quality finished products.

In fact, South Mediterranean textile and clothing industry is focused on the garment industry and the integration of the Textile sector is still to be developed. So, there is an urgent need to invest in new activities and processes including dyeing and finishing to have local intermediate materials (fabrics, accessories, ...), treated with sustainable and environmentally friendly processes to foster job creation, technological upgrading and so, improve the competitiveness of Tunisian SMEs.
  
Within this framework that European project TEX-MED ALLIANCES supports efforts made by TEX-MED ALLIANCES partners’ countries through the initiative "Dying of Small Batches" implemented by CETTEX who has benefited from funding from EU to:
- acquire new dyeing and finishing equipment, installed in the Technology Resource Center in the region of Monastir, and make available this equipment to beneficiary partners’ and textile companies’ projects to realize dyeing prototypes necessary for the realization of new collections. 
- bring a qualified expert in textile finishing to develop knowledge and skills in internationalization, innovation, and circular economy and meet the expectations of project beneficiaries.

This seminar will gather textile and garment experts from Tunisia, as Mr. Ramzi Zammali of  the Tunisian competitiveness cluster concerning the textil industry, MFCPOLE, Chedly Boudokhane representing Chimitex. From Italy, Mr. Fabio Giusti of Trafi Creativita Tessile srl, and form Greece, will participate Mr. Tsiakiris of Sil Hohe. Also, the event will gather managers of industrial companies and economic operators from both sides of the Mediterranean. It represents an interesting opportunity to share experiences between TEX-MED ALLIANCES partners’ and EUROMED companies, to introduce to the participants new dyeing and finishing techniques, and to promote the initiative "Dyeing of Small Batches “implemented by the CRT of CETTEX for the benefit of SMEs.

During this seminar, companies from Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Tunisia, Spain, Italy, and Greece will find business opportunities and collaboration and will be invited to participate in Matchmaking meetings with companies that represent the textile value chain.
