On April 9th 2021 MEDISS participates in the initiative entitled: “Describing territories: A comparison of geographical narratives”.
The event is organised in the context of the international Night of Geography 2021 by the Department of Literature, Languages and Cultural Heritage of the University of Cagliari, and Associazione Italiana Insegnanti di Geografia - AIIG (Italian Association of Geography Teachers) SARDEGNA - (Sardinia, Italy).
It aims to illustrate the contribution given in the improvement of local geographies focusing on the relevance between territory and water.
In addition, it aims to increase awareness and discuss the relevance of geography in the territorial enhancement processes, the planning innovations, and the active participation of local communities.
MEDISS participates in the “Describing territories: A comparison of geographical narratives” event to illustrate its innovative programme of territorial valorisation which provides water efficiency while engaging the local community.
It is fundamental to build territorial development through innovative sustainable programmes and enhance cooperation on water issues, in order to face water scarcity and waste.
Regarding the Sardinian territories, MEDISS can illustrate progress in the Arborea pilot site with the new plant, equipped with biogas cogeneration, for ammonia stripping from waste sludges to produce fertilizers.
The discussion will be held completely in Italian by the referents of Centro di Ricerche Economiche Nord Sud – CRENoS (Centre for North South Economic Research) and Ente Acque della Sardegna ENAS (Sardinian Waterboard Company), Palestinian Wastewater Engineers Group – PWEG – project leader, and the Joint Technical Secretariat – JTS – experts will present ENICBC Med Programme B.4.1 priorities.
