Le projet GREENinMED a participé à la Semaine méditerranéenne des leaders économiques 2020

  • The MedaWeek Barcelona is nowadays the iconic conference dedicated to promoting the Mediterranean region worldwide. More than 20.000 participants from 44 countries have attended the event over the past years.

  • This year´s edition aims to cover topics such as the importance of development and investment possibilities in Africa, the Mediterranean as a central space for dialogue and economic growth and the digital transformation in the Mediterranean region.

  • GREENinMED project was invited by ASCASME in order to reinforce the Mediterranean project networks and bring together some representatives of these projects, which work aligned with strategic key sectors and cross-cutting issues

Barcelona, 19th of November 2020. The Spain Chamber presented GREENinMED project, that is co-financed (90%) by the European Programme ENI CBC MED, during the Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders, (MedaWeek). Its 14th edition. MedaWeek Barcelona 2020 – “Time to act: Stronger Together” – has been focused on key issues for the post-COVID era, such as innovation, digital transformation, health, hospitality, entrepreneurship, women empowerment and so on. MedaWeek Barcelona is organized by the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Mediterranean (ASCAME),

The Chamber of Spain presented GREENinMED during a specific panel focused on BlueEconomy, GreenEconomy and Innovation. The Chamber of Spain highlighted the usefulness of some of GREENinMED products, such as the Water and Energy Technology Benchmark. The Catalogue may offer very adequate technologies in order to save money and reduce water and energy consumption by Mediterranean SMEs. Even though the Catalogue is focused on Hotel Industry and Tourism SMEs, many of the technological solutions described in the catalogue are useful for SMEs operating in other sectors.

Next GREENinMED activities

During the panel, the Spain Chamber explained the composition of GREENinMED consortium (5 partners in France, Israel and Spain) and the advantages of cross-border collaboration in order to  produce the outputs of the project: such as the collection of best practices, information pills,  various seminars in Israel, France and Spain, the survey addressed to SMEs hotels and the Benchmark of technologies launched on the 3rd July and recently updated in October.

Finally, the current actions that partners are focused on are the following ones:  the call for the innovation vouchers (advisory and support services to test or implement innovation solutions, in order to improve the efficiency and efficacy of water and electricity management) and the consolidation of the Cross-border Eco-Innovation Window.

The MEDAWEEK Barcelona 20202 has increased the visibility of GREENinMED, and the capitalization its actions engaging important actors from the Mediterranean Region and enforcing the results of GREENinMED.
