MED4EBM Final Ecosysyem Based Management Report

This deliverable presents a comprehensive overview of the MED4EBM project, aimed at contributing to the preservation and sustainable development of Mediterranean coastal zones. The report outlines the project's objectives, methodologies, and outcomes, focusing on the establishment of effective ecosystem-based Integrated Coastal Zone Management (EB-ICZM) protocols. It highlights the innovative Integrated Spatial Planning (PROGES-ISP) package developed to facilitate EBM implementation through participatory and evidence-based approaches. The deliverable emphasizes the collaboration with stakeholders, including local authorities, NGOs, research institutions, and the private sector, towards achieving the project's goals. The report serves as a valuable resource for understanding the challenges and opportunities associated with ICZM and EBM integration in the Mediterranean region.

The RE-MED Community digital platform

The RE-MED Community digital platform is a multicultural space for sharing information resources, training courses, job and internship offers, "Base Experts" skills offers, calls for tenders and events related to RE-MED project. It is also a marketplace that allows the publication of offers of materials and equipment (for sale or rent) related to the management and valorisation of Construction and Demolition Waste.

The RE-MED community mobile application

A mobile application for reporting illegal dumping sites which will create a new relationship between the public sphere and its users. By transmitting the photo and geolocation of the dump he/she encounters in the public space, the citizens is empowered to improve his/her living conditions. This activity will include the design of the application with all partners. Construction, uploading, updating and maintenance will be carried out by Dynedoc.

Co-Evolve 4BG Transferability Plan

This deliverable consists of the Transferability Plan at Pilot Areas, regional scale and Mediterranean one of the Co-Evolve4BG project, presenting and analyzing the Transferability Actions and other supportive structures that took place during the project’s elaboration.
The Transferability Plan took into account all levels of reference, from local (Pilot Areas) to Mediterranean (and/or international level), ensuring the successful dissemination of the project’s impact and the exchange of experiences and knowledge.

Co-Evolve4BG Pollution and other Anthropogenic Pressures Affecting Ecosystems Alexandroupoli & Samothraki scale, Greece scale

The present deliverable aims at describing and studying the current situation taking into consideration pollution impact and all the predictable threats that are putting both environment and public health at stake. The focus will be put on the coastal zone of the 2 sub-areas of Pilot Area 2 of Co-Evolve4BG, namely Alexandropoulos and Samothraki located in the
Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, in Greece.

Co-Evolve4BG participatory approach

To ensure the ownership of these action plans, and thus constitute a suitable basis for their implementation, a participatory approach has been implemented in each of the pilot areas between September 2022 and June 2023. It has allowed to bring together partners and local stakeholders (decision makers, scientists, economic players, citizens, etc.) around trainings and workshops aiming at the development of a shared understanding of the local challenges , and at the identification of collaborative actions to increase the sustainability of local activities.
