Co-Evolve4BG project aims at analyzing and promoting the co-evolution of human activities and natural systems in touristic coastal areas, allowing sustainable development of touristic activities promoting Blue Growth in the Mediterranean. The project will be implemented in 7 Pilot Areas from  5 countries (Tunisia, Lebanon, Greece, Spain and Italy), having diverse natural characteristics. Djerba is the second Pilot Area in Tunisia on the implementation of Co-Evolve4BG project. Djerba has an important touristic activity with high seasonality that impact on the use of tourist facilities and pressure on the ecological and socio-cultural carrying capacity.
