Co-Evolve4BG participe au webinaire «L'aménagement du territoire marin comme moteur de l'économie bleue en Méditerranée occidentale»

On 11th of May 2021 the Co-Evolve4BG project attended the webinar: “Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) as a booster for Blue Economy, ensuring a coherent planning across the Western Mediterranean region” organised by the WestMED Assistance Mechanism and MSP global Initiative ".

The increasing demand for maritime space for various uses, as well as the multiple pressures on marine and coastal resources, requires an integrated approach to ocean management in the Western Mediterranean.

This joint webinar aimed to improve cross-border and transboundary cooperation for the development of Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) and Sustainable Blue Economy.
The event allowed the countries of the southern shore of Western Mediterranean region to exchange best practices, tools and actions at national and regional level to contribute to a coherent ecosystem of spatial management as a driver of the blue economy.

In this context, Mr. Bechir Béjaoui, project coordinator of Co-Evolve4BG and Mr. Hechmi Missaoui, General Director of INSTM (National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technologies of Tunisia) assisted to the webinar and presented the case study of a prosperous area for aquaculture in Monastir in Tunisia, in first place, and exposed the current situation of Marine Space Planning in Djerba in Tunisia, in second place.

They had opportunity to highlight the ongoing project Co-Evolve4BG.
