Egypt: Cluster4Green is seeking to hire part time Social Media Specialist


The Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) is one of the country’s largest employers’ associations. Since its inception the [FEI] has been carrying out its responsibilities towards defending and supporting Egyptian industries, firmly believing in industry as the pillar of the sustainable development of the country and as the tool to alleviate poverty and attain prosperity.

FEI effectively advocates the common interests of its members, defends their positions and implements projects with international donors to raise the competitiveness of the industry.

The FEI is participating as one of the implementers of the project “promoting Innovative clusters and value chain of SMEs for sustainable development-CLUSTER4GREEN”. The project is a two – year financed by the European Union The project is to be implemented simultaneously in Mediterranean countries namely: Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Spain, France and Italy, as the late considered the lead  applicant

The project aims at continuing the green path with the generation of a “Common MED Circular Economy Programme” aimed at supporting both small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs responsible for the creation of an adequate green business environment. Innovative and sustainable business models will be elaborated and presented by the federation to a wide number of enterprises during specific training and assistance activities. As a final step on the green way, sustainable investment alliances will be established forging Public-Private Partnerships at national and international scale: as a result, the project will contribute to the “greening” of several Mediterranean industrial sectors.

FEI is considered one of the participatory partners in the framework of capitalization projects for the cooperation program of the cross border Mediterranean 2014-2020 program financed by European Union grant, entitled “promoting Innovative clusters and value chain of SMEs for sustainable development-CLUSTER4GREEN”.

Job Summary

A Social Media Specialist –part time- is responsible for creating and publishing content on all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to grow an audience, build brand awareness, and ultimately, boost sales.


Reports to FEI/International Partners

Duties & Responsibilities:                                                                 

  • Manage Page roles and settings
  • Edit the Page and add apps
  • Responsible for delivering and implementing agreed upon social media strategies for client audiences on the different social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Blogs, etc....).
  • Monitor and participate in online conversations.
  • Create and delete posts as the Page.
  • Report on campaign progress and provide feedback to relevant team members based on agreed upon Kips.
  • Respond to and delete comments and posts to the Page.
  • Remove and ban people from the Page.
  • View and analyze insights.
  • Write engaging posts that inform/inspire and entertain the audience on social media including captions, articles and blog posts.
  • Respond to comments and customer inquiries in a timely manner.

More Sophisticated Tasks

  • Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy after conducting competitive research, platform determination, messaging and audience identification
  • Plan, create, publish and share new content (including original text, images, video and code) on a daily basis that builds meaningful customer connections, increases brand awareness and encourages community members to engage with the brand
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop social media campaigns
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
  • Moderate user-generated content in line with the moderation policy
  • Collaborate with sales, web design, web development, digital marketing, customer relations and product development teams
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
  • Capture and analyze the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and social media best practices to measure the success of every social media campaign, then use that information to refine future campaigns
  • Work with copywriters and designers to ensure content is informative and appealing
  • Bolster your network by interacting with industry professionals and influencers via social media

Experience and skills

Must possess excellent digital and communication skills, along with the ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines. In particular, consideration will be given to candidates who show expertise in a variety of digital tools, virtual platforms and social media campaigns, and are ready to take on an exciting challenge in boosting the international visibility of the organisation. 


  • Experience in: 
    • Establishing and maintaining online communities
    • Managing and creating content for social media platforms
    • Developing and producing a range of multimedia content
    • Designing and facilitating virtual meetings
    • Measuring and reporting the performance of digital content, events or social media campaigns using analytics tools.
  • Proactivity and autonomy 
  • Excellent understanding of the newest trends or changes in social networking sites
  • Creative flair and experience in creating simple, clear and innovative content to communicate complex issues for large but segmented audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple or large-scale projects effectively, and to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail- and results-oriented, highly organized, excellent (English) writing skills
  • Must be comfortable working with colleagues remotely


  • Experience working with (or for an audience of) international development partners 
  • Strong design and HTML skills, including command of Adobe Creative Suite tools, infographic design tools and content management systems
  • Experience working with multi-cultural environments, global networks and/or multilateral initiatives 
  • Keen interest in and knowledge of international relief and development or related fields; prior experience working at an international organization strongly preferred
  • A strong technical background, including experience as a web programmer or webmaster

Spoken and written French or Spanish is a plus
