Last January 26 2023, HELIOS held its final event in Palermo (Sicily) to raise awareness of project achievements but, more importantly, to promote the future actions to ensure continuity of the network and activities already put in place to foster the social inclusion of young people and women in the Mediterranean region.

Meet one of U-SOLVE subgrant applicants from Palestine, Dania Salamah. She and her team work on their project called "Embracing New Technologies with Heritage" which aims  at modernizing traditional Palestinian clothes and accessories using new technologies.

In order to tackle the challenges facing the traditional textile, leather and footwear sectors in the Mediterranean region, CRE@CTIVE created a network of 6 L@Bs across Egypt, Palestine, Tunisia, Italy, and Spain, each specializing in a specific field to foster growth and innovation.

Takatcom is an energy management platform that allows people to trade and share their excess solar energy, the trading will occur among municipality-scale microgrids, the system also incorporates farmers that have solar irrigation systems installed.
Therefore, the solution allows customers to make a return on their investment as well as reduce the general cost of fuel that they might face, all while being self-sustainable and eco-conscious.

ChitoTech is an innovative startup dealing with the manufacturing of nano chitosan and premium organic fertilizers from recycling shrimp shells.

ChitoTech was one of the 6 winning teams of the NEX-LABS summer school and could benefit of support from high level experts who helped the young entrepreneurs from a strategic, economic, and engineering point of view.
