NAWAMED: stakeholders’ debate on cost feasibility and adoption of non-conventional water resources technologies in Lebanon

Two water tables, national stakeholders’ meetings, organized by the American University of Beirut (AUB) to address further important areas related to the NAWAMED project:

-    cost feasibility assessment of water demand management (WDM) and non-conventional water resources (NCWR) technologies in Lebanon
-    identification of challenges for promoting the adoption of WDM and NCWR technologies 

Dr. Nadim Farajalla, AUB co-project investigator, Dr. Hammou Laamrani, Senior Expert - Economic Sector, League of Arab States and Mrs. Rita El Jahjah, Research and Development Officer, CubeX, Lebanese social enterprise specialized in resource-oriented bio-waste management, will be the key speakers at the meetings bringing together experts from different fields of the water sector.

The core group that has been part of the previous two water tables in Lebanon (please read the related news) will be joined by specialty experts to elevate the discussion and tackle the issues related to the themes. 

The outcomes and recommendations of these third and fourth national stakeholders’ meetings, called water tables, will also be valuable papers to be considered when formulating the “Mediterranean Policy Document”. 

The online events, taking place on Wednesday, August 11 and Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm (Beirut time) will be developed in English language and are joined upon personal invitations.
