Bethlehem - Within the framework of U-SOLVE project, Palestine Ahliya University (PAU) formed a focus group in a public event co-organized in cooperation with the German Technical Cooperation GIZ/Do TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programme.

An introduction about U-SOLVE project was presented by PAU project’s manager, Mr. Khaled Shanaa, followed by a discussion with representatives of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and local and international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

The discussion highlighted the relationship of the educational institutions, including the university, with CBOs and NGOs, as well as the challenge of creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Palestine. It also tackled entrepreneurship in the context of urban development, as one of the main aspects of the project.

This focus group aimed at developing approaches to foster an entrepreneurial enabling environment for Palestinian young people and women, and to achieve the project’s objectives in creating a model of urban development based on innovative entrepreneurship.

Palestine Ahliya University is one of the partners of U-SOLVE. Like all partners, the university will implement the project through community engagement, and by helping to establish and strengthen local ecosystems, supporting young and women entrepreneurs in Palestine, in addition to promoting the new approach in urban development strategies.
