Epimorfotiki Kilkis sm LLC , the coordinator of the MED-QUAD project, in collaboration with the International Hellenic University (IHU), a project partner from Greece, organizes the second blended training seminar for the members of the City Development Group (CDG) in Kilkis (GR).The activity aims to capitalise on the knowledge and experience gained so far from the project implementation after having achieved the following goals, during the first online training seminar implemented from 11 to 15 July 2022:

• Creation of a common vision and language;

• Formulation of co-designed pilot projects underpinned by a commitment to enhancing digital development;

• Testing and evaluation framework of real-world trials and innovation in collaborative practices;

• Development of an agreed strategy for the city,

The MED-QUAD project has created city development groups consisting of representatives of the Quadruple Helix approach (i.e., from the university, the businesses, the state and the society) who participate in actions offering their know-how to society. City development groups aim to raise public awareness and strengthen cooperation between universities and the community.The members of the CDG, will be trained by university educational staff from 15 to 21 December 2022.

In each involved country (Greece, Italy, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine and Tunisia), local authorities, universities, and private and public bodies have set up a City Development Group able to think long-term about the city's sustainable regional development in the fields of water quality and the promotion of cultural heritage, based on digitalisation. The City Development Group, established in Greece, is seated in the department of the IHU located in Kilkis.

The University, transformed into a "socially aware university", has a guiding role within the CDG, and it is responsible, among other things, for the training of the CDG members.
