This year is designated as the European Year of Youth, underlying the importance of European youth to build a greener, more inclusive, and digital future. Taking this opportunity, ENI CBC Med Programme organized an online workshop entitled “Young people for Mediterranean cooperation" on 13th of October in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities. Young people from Egypt, Spain, Italy, Tunisia, and Jordan shared their inspiring stories regarding the contribution of each to positive and constructive Euro-Mediterranean relations.

As indicated in the poll during the workshop discussion, climate change and education are the most important topics of Mediterranean cooperation. BERLIN’s purpose fulfils both environmental and education goals. The institutions from the EU Member States cooperate closely with the partners from Israel in order to exchange and transfer technological knowledge. At the same time, the green technologies used in the project are applied in student halls and school buildings, while a parallel aim is to train and inform pupils and students on the new technologies installed in order to develop a sense of good energy consumption habits and contribute to the transformation of public buildings to fully energy self-sufficient and resilient buildings. In this context, partners from the consortium were eager to participate in this interesting workshop and continue the dialogue in this field.
