Taoufik Abassi is a fisherman in Sidi Mechreg, the north-west of Bizerte, Tunisia. He started his career with fisheries in the 1990s. In 2021, Taoufik developed a new business. He opened his own restaurant “Restaurant La cigale - Club Bleu Artisanal”, where he employs 4 workers from his family and 6 from his region. Through his business, he seeks to improve his activity and fishing sector in Sidi Mechreg, to promote his region and to offer labour opportunities to young people. On FISH MED NET platform, Mr. Abassi wishes to improve the marketing of his restaurant and his knowledge on seafood processing.
