The Green Start-ups Jury Day is a pitching event organised for early-stage start-ups that will take place on the 29th of August 2022 at the Beirut Digital District, in Lebanon. Organised by Berytech, the Lebanese partner, in this event 13 start-ups that have received training and coaching under the GIMED project will pitch their existing ventures in front of a jury. In a nutshell, 4 of them will be selected to move to the incubation phase.

The pitching event will begin at 17pm and close at 19pm followed by networking time. The start-ups that will pitch their ideas are: Green Marks, Mortben, VEA – Upcycled Rubber Handbags, A+, Brio Bags, Vamos Todos, Garbaliser, Besalim Organics, CULTIVA, Native Nurseries, Smartland, R-paper and Green Track. The entrepreneurs behind these start-ups are exploring green solutions in fields such as environmental waste, food & agriculture, clean energy, textile and eco-design, sustainable tourism or recycling.

The Jury Committee is composed by three experts in the green and social sector, which are John Rbeiz, entrepreneur and circular economy expert and coach; Nancy Saliba, director of Asher Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship – ACIE; and Rana Boji, Investment Specialist at Berytech.

The 4 finalists will move to the incubation phase and will benefit from GIMED’s support in defining and implementing a business growth road map, have access to funding and market opportunities and win a grant of 7,500€ each to be spent on equipment and technical assistance.
