The 5th Steering Committee of Co-Evolve4BG took place on the 5th & 6th of July 2022 in Alexandroupolis, north east of  Greece. The meeting was attended by all partners and was hosted by the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (REMTH).

The technical aspects of the meeting focused on the Threats and Enabling Factors (T&EF) in the seven pre-selected pilot coastal areas (Hergla-Monastir region and Djerba (Tunisia); Circeo National Park (Italy); Alexandroupoli and Samothraki (Greece); Murcia (Spain); Batroun and Tyre Coast Nature Reserve (Lebanon) to ensure a sustainable Coastal/Maritime Tourism development. The Threats & Enabling Factors (T&EF) analysis at both the national and pilot area have been finalized and is under review. Concerning the analysis at Mediterranean scale, the activity is currently in progress with the support of the Lead Beneficiary, the Institute National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer (INSTM).

The next step of the project is to carry out a participatory approach to start in each of the 7 pilot areas to co-construct action plans to set the conditions for sustainable Coastal/Maritime Tourism with the local stakeholders, who must play a central role in setting up priorities and objectives of policies, projects, and interventions on the territories to ensure relevance and appropriateness.
