Italy: NAWAMED addresses tools and best practices for the use of unconventional water resources mainly through Nature Based Solution

Next Tuesday, June 7, local public authorities and key stakeholders from Latina Province will participate at the 2nd NAWAMED “Water Table”, discussing technical and regulatory tools and ongoing experiences for the use of non conventional water resources (NCWR) and for the efficient water management in urban areas.

The online event will be opened by Fabio Zaccarelli, Project Manager of the NAWAMED project,  that will present the project's preliminary results that the project is already registering in its implementation regarding innovative measures for the treatment and reuse of rainwater and wastewater at the urban level.

Maria Pietrobelli, CRAS srl, Center for Applied Research for Sustainable Development, technical assistance of Latina Province, will present the objectives of the “Water Table” and the activities planned for the day. 

Stefano Bazzocchi, Municipality of Forlì (Italy), will explain how the Municipality has addressed the problem of water management within the European Project Sos4Life (link). 

Elisa Turiani, Legambiente Toscana, will analyze the role of nature-based solutions (NBS) in optimizing the water resource management in urban areas, trough the experience developed by the City of Prato (Italy) in the european PRATO URBAN JUNGLE project (link)

Claudio Carini, CIIP (Clicli Idrici Integrati Primari) of Ascoli Piceno (Italy), will illustrate the potential for reuse of the water resource talking about the case of the San Benedetto del Tronto water treatment plant.

The online event, from 15:00 to 17:00 CEST, is in Italian and is open to public authorities and key invited stakeholders.
