MED-QUAD in Italy organises a workshop on the role of the society in local and global sustainable development, presenting the project strategy

The University of L’Aquila and the Municipality of L’Aquila, respectively project partner and associated partner of MED-QUAD, organise a local workshop entitled “The role of the society in local and global sustainable development: the MED_QUAD strategy”. The project and the scientific coordinators will present to the city stakeholders and citizens the MED-QUAD aims and expected results. The event will take place on May 31st, 2022 (11:00-13:30, Italian time).

Attendees from municipalities, cultural associations, academia, industry, intellectuals, artists and citizens are invited.

Participants expect their activities to contribute to local, sustainable development and cooperation between the four key players of innovation: higher education institutions/research centres, the state, businesses and society (local government) as the project is based on the quadruple helix approach.  Particular emphasis will be given to the university's role and the applied research for cultural heritage exploitation – ARCHEO living lab – and wise water management – SWUAP living lab.

The workshop follows one of the Labs goals of taking into consideration the needs and expectations of the surrounding local communities within two crucial topics. It will provide a new meaning to sustainable development rooted locally but in a global view focused on the Mediterranean basin.
