Are you a Business Support Organisation (BSO) seeking to support entrepreneurs in the green economy, blue economy, or cultural and creative industries (CCI)?

Do you have a start-up or Micro, Small or Medium-sized Enterprise (MSME) operating in any of those sectors with plans to grow your market share, launch new products or services, or go international?

If you are based in Egypt, Lebanon or Tunisia, you could be eligible to receive funding to make those dreams a reality.

The EU-funded INVESTMED project has extended its call for applications to its sub-granted scheme. Young people (under 35) and women of all ages are particularly encouraged to apply.

Sub-grants of a maximum of €35,000 each will be awarded to BSOs to support the development, launch and implementation of an incubation and acceleration programme for at least 12 entrepreneurs and small businesses. The deadline for this call has been extended to 21 February 2022.

Sub-grants of up to €10,000 per MSME (or up to €20,000 per cultural and creative project) will be awarded to help businesses develop and implement new strategies, products, services, or internationalization plans. The deadline for this call has been extended to 3 March 2022.

INVESTMED partners have been holding info days to answer applicants' questions about the scheme and eligibility: you can find recordings of these sessions here:

29th Nov 2021

1st Feb 2022

FAQs from the info sessions will be posted shortly.

INVESTMED aims to address economic and environmental challenges facing small businesses in the Mediterranean, in order to foster sustainable growth and economic development in three key sectors in the region:

  • Green economy – in which the economic activities, infrastructures and assets of the sector enable the reduction of carbon emissions and pollution, improve energy and resource efficiency, and avoid the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
  • Blue economy – related to oceans, seas, lakes, rivers and coasts to promote economic growth, social inclusion and the preservation or improvement of livelihoods, while avoiding environmental and ecosystem degradation.
  • Creative and cultural industries – enterprises engaged in the production or reproduction, promotion, distribution or marketing of goods, services and activities with content derived from cultural, artistic or heritage origins.

Sub-grants will take the form of a reimbursement of costs.
