As part of the objectives of RESMYLE project focusing on supporting NEETs' entrepreneurship and innovation in sustainable development sectors, the Green Construction Innovation Lab (GCIL) was officially opened on September 9th, 2021 in Jordan. The lab is hosted within the existing Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects (CEIP) at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). The center provides support for innovators within the campus and the local community. Currently, a total of 43 startups have been supported by the center. A range of services are offered by the center by experts, including technical, entrepreneurial, and marketing skills.

The Green construction Innovation Lab (GCIL) at JUST is an advanced unit within the CEIP that will incubate projects and startups in the green buildings and construction sector. As one of the fastest growing sectors in Jordan, the GCIL will support NEET entrepreneurs working on innovations in sustainable construction processes, green architecture advancement, sustainable design practices, and alternatives for environmentally friendly building materials. Overall, the incubator will help promote entrepreneurship and private sector job creation in the eco-construction market in Jordan.

The official opening included a tour of the facilities of the CEIP and the space that will be designated for RESMYLE GCIL startups. Innovative business ideas supported by GCIL will receive technical support, business training, and accesses to shared workspaces, incubation offices, and experimentation labs. RESMYLE team members Dr. Ahmad Freewan and Dr. Nermeen Dalgamoni presented the objectives of the lab to 20 stakeholders from the community, the university, and media.

NEETs of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply for support from the incubator. This includes backgrounds or experience in the crafts and material industry, construction, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, urban design, and many more. There are two ways to apply for sponsorship from GCIL:
