NEX-LABS Water, Energy and Food NEXUS Training program for Public Authorities

This training program targets 28 selected representatives of Public Authorities, decision makers and program managers involved in the development of policy and strategic frameworks, as well as initiatives and activities in Water, Energy and Food (WEF)-NEXUS field on a national level, from Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Tunisia.
Over a set of sessions, the participants will be exposed to the principle of WEF-NEXUS and its reflections in the Mediterranean region.
The selected participants will be able to:
- acquire skills to develop a regulatory framework that addresses the WEF-NEXUS opportunities, by offering policies that facilitate the implementation of innovative solution tackling the WEF-NEXUS taking into consideration the local needs of society, environment and economy;
- assess the impact of the WEF-NEXUS framework, monitor and evaluate the performance and amend the framework to the best interests of the sector’s needs;
- exchange best practices and lessons learnt with other participants from the Mediterranean Partner Countries regions
The training is divided into five modules according to the following agenda:
Module 1 - Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus in the Mediterranean: Introduction and Methodological Framework . Date: 24/11/2021 - Duration: 8 hours
Module 2 - WEF-Nexus shaping factors. Date: 25/11/2021 - Duration: 8 hours
Module 3 - Effective design and implementation WEF-Nexus Framework and strategies on a national scale. Date: 29/11/2021 - Duration: 8 hours
Module 4 - Tools and Methods for WEF-Nexus assessment, planning, monitoring and evaluation. Date: 30/11/2021 - Duration: 8 hours
Module 5 - Recommendations for implementation of WEF-Nexus Approach. Date: 02/12/2021 - Duration: 4 hours
The training will be held in a virtual format, via Zoom. Selected participants will be contacted by the organizers to provide full details for the participation.
