On the 8th of July, CIHEAM Bari carried out an online training course on “Strengthening organic value chain in the Mediterranean” in the Apulia region, Italy. The session was addressed to 10 Italian organic operators previously selected by the CIHEAM Bari committee and belonging to different value chains (i.e. viticulture, cereals, almonds, and many more).

The thematics were related to several topics, as suggested by participants themselves, ranging from new Regulation and Green Deal to techniques of fertilization and disease control, as well as Smart labelling to commercial alliances, thus covering a wide array of relevant issues.

The 30 hours of online lectures allowed participants, at the end of the course, to enhance their competencies and access the next steps of the project (i.e. national meetings, national and cross-border workshops, etc.).

The expected impacts relate mainly to the mutual transfer of knowledge and innovation, the aggregation of companies in value chains and the expansion of organic value chains through the creation of new commercial alliances.
