MedTOWN Social Solidarity Economy Guidebook

The Social Solidarity Economy is an alternative to capitalism and other authoritarian, state-dominated economic systems. In SSE ordinary people play an active role in shaping all of the dimensions of human life: economic, social, cultural, political, and environmental. SSE exists in all sectors of the economy production, finance, distribution, exchange, consumption and governance. It also aims to transform the social and economic system that includes public, private and third sectors. SSE is not only about the poor, but strives to overcome inequalities, which includes all classes of society. This guidebook provides insights on the development of the SSE movement and the various approaches of how it is defined.

MedTOWN Co-Production Guidebook

Co-production of Public Policies in Collaboration with SSE Entities: This guidebook delves into the specifics of how co-production can be applied to the development of public policies in collaboration with Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) entities. It outlines the importance of such collaboration, the roles and responsibilities of each party, and how these collaborations can be initiated and sustained. Examples of successful public policy co-production initiatives involving SSE entities are also featured.

MedRiSSE E-Learning Courses on Co-production and Social Innovation with SSE entities

These courses result from the knowledge and experience gained from five capitalized projects funded by the ENI CBC MED Programme. All projects aimed to enhance a collaborative ecosystem for Social Solidarity Economy (SSE) initiatives, support social business startups, and promote social innovation. In total, 5 eLearning courses have been developed and uploaded to the Med Co-production Lab: Co-production of Public Policies and Complementary Currencies, Alliances with SSE for Employment and Education, Support to Social Business Start-ups on Scaling up and Replication, Fair Trade, Rural Entrepreneurship and Women's Empowerment, and How to Develop a Local Ecosystem of SSE Based on CITESS Methodology. Once the course is successfully completed after a quick quiz, the Lab automatically generates a certificate of knowledge. All courses have been translated to Arabic and Spanish.

MedSNAIL factsheets of quality products belonging to the Mediterranean culture, history and traditions.

As an alternative to the MedSNAIL Geodatabase, factsheets have been published with information on Ark of Taste products identified through MedSNAIL. This is a more visual and easy-to-share tool that describes the nature, production process and history of these products. The Ark of Taste is a Slow Food initiative created to highlight the existence of quality products belonging to cultures, history and traditions around the world, which are at risk of disappearing within a few generations.
