AQUACYCLE presents achievements to European Court of Auditors

As part of its mandate to assess the efficiency of EU funding, the European Court of Auditors (ECA) invited AQUACYCLE to bring insights into the ENI CBC Med programme from a project implementation point of view.

  1. A brief overview of the project and results achieved to date
  2. The cross-border dimension and benefits of the project, and
  3. The project’s Capitalization Plan, which is aimed at ensuring the sustainability of results after the end of the ENI CBC Med funding.

On behalf of the AQUACYCLE Partnership, Prof Anastasios Karabelas thanked the Managing Authority (MA) and the Joint Technical Secretariat (JTS) for their active assistance and guidance received both during the application process and during the implementation of the project.

The online meeting which was held on 17 January 2022, was joined by

  • Ms Erika Katalin Söveges and Ms Annette Farrugia on behalf of ECA,
  • Ms Antonella Giglio and Ms Laura Pinna on behalf of JTS,
  • Prof Anastasios Karabelas as Overall Project Coordinator, Dr. Konstantinos Plakas, Project Manager and Dr. Vasilis Takavakoglou, Innovation Manager, from the Centre for Research and Technology, Hellas (CERTH), Greece, and
  • Ms Anna Spiteri and Eng. Dirk De Ketelaere as Project Communication Managers from Integrated Resources Management Company Ltd., (IRMCo), Malta.
