As part of the Development and Promotion of Mediterranean Sustainable Adventure Tourism (MEDUSA) project, a series of tourism product co-creation workshops will take place in Spain, Jordan, Lebanon, Italy, and Tunisia to support stakeholders in developing, designing, co-creating, delivering, and promoting Adventure Tourism products and meaningful experiences on local and cross-border levels.

Therefore, at least four workshops will be carried out in each country where MEDUSA is implemented. The workshops on Adventure Tourism Product assigned will occur in selected pilot areas, either virtually (due to COVID-19 pandemic) or in-person. The workshops will follow a participatory methodology, based on design thinking. Five experts have been selected to carry out the workshops for the partners of MEDUSA partners. All the facilitators have a broad experience in cooperation dynamics and in the field of tourism.

The objective is to support stakeholders with the help of expert facilitators and through the outcomes of the Global Market Research recently published. MEDUSA partners expect the participation of a variety of stakeholders obtaining thus more interesting ideas and better conclusions.

After attending the workshops, stakeholders will have a better understanding on how to attract more tourists during off-season periods to less known areas using creative and innovative processes. The workshop facilitators will promote the delivering of new products, in an interactive and dynamic way, which include marketing and communication tools and strategies, in addition to meaningful experiences in Adventure Tourism, through best practices in packaging and advancing services or products.

Once all local workshops are finalized in each country, MEDUSA project will organize a cross-border event to share with the broad public the main conclusions collected from key stakeholders from the adventure tourism field.
