Acting for marine litter: Plastic Busters Cap project at Climate Change Conference 'COP27' event

Plastic Busters Cap project will take part in Sharm El-Sheikh Climate Change Conference on 16 November 2022 (COP27) with a focus on "Mediterranean biodiversity challenges: acting against marine litter". The speaker panel “Marine Litter and Science” will be Maria Cristina Fossi, Full Professor of Ecology and Ecotoxicology at the University of Siena.

This session will look into ongoing efforts to address the impacts of marine litter on Mediterranean ecosystems.The panel will engage representatives from the worlds of science, policy and practice to debate over the knowledge available and gaps remaining to tackle the cumulative threats to the Mediterranean as a biodiversity hotspot, to see how integrated policies can alleviate the impacts on marine life by encouraging regional-level measures and to learn from ongoing experiences on the ground.

The session, organised by Interreg MED Programme and UNIMED, will take place at Mediterranean Pavilion at 12:30 -13:30 (Egypt local time, CET+1)
