MED4EBM in Tunisia identifies management interventions for a more sustainable Mediterranean coast

The System Cause-Effect Analysis workshop focuses on defining a coherent and integrated set of management measures, in the Kneiss Islands nature reserve in Tunisia. The process was led and helped by using the ISP software, the system-diagram and the indicators resulting from the Ecosystem Context Analysis.

The Med4EBM partners and/or relevant stakeholders jointly carried out an analysis called “cause-effect”, in order to explicit and to explain the relationship between the components and to evaluate the nature of them. Moreover, the stakeholders reviewed the status of the knowledge of each component, writing the data available and lack of information. The final step, better developed in the next phase (Developing EB-ICZM Governance Protocols workshops) will be the suggestion of governance protocols and management initiatives, that include both practical actions and monitoring or/and new collection campaigns of data. The System Cause-Effect Analysis will be developed using a work-based learning approach.

During the first workshop the participants will start to fill the table used for the said analysis.
