The Development Information and Education Center (CIES), Lead Beneficiary of the EU-funded project MYSEA, will take part in “Terra Madre - Salone del Gusto 2022” in Turin, one of the most important international events on agriculture, farming, food production and environmental and food policies.

MYSEA project will be presented on Friday 23 September (4:30-5:30 p.m. Space D60 Rome Capitale -Food Policy Pavillion) with a focus on "Youth and women: training and employment in agri-food to promote sustainability and social inclusion in the Mediterranean".

Terra Madre - Salone del Gusto takes place from September 22 to 26 in Turin in the Parco Dora space. Organized by Slow Food together with the City of Turin and Piemonte Region, it features a Marketplace of more than 600 Italian and international producers, a rich program of events and exhibition spaces that highlight how food can be a valuable opportunity for regeneration. Indeed, this year, the theme of the event will be "Food RegenerAction”: a radical renewal needed for a real agroecological transition, which must start with food by improving agricultural practices, production and distribution systems, diets and consumption habits, in big cities as well as in inland areas.

With the contribution of the European Union under the ENI CBC Med programme, MYSEA fully embraces the aims of the event by proposing its model of sustainability and social inclusion, aiming to improve the employability of young people and women in the Blue and Green Economy, particularly in the agrifood and waste management sectors, where the request for new professional profiles, able to manage the innovative, sustainable and eco-responsible technologies,  is growing rapidly.

The current situation throughout the Mediterranean region is characterized by a strong skills mismatch between labor supply and demand, and in particular between young people and companies. For this reason, MYSEA has chosen to invest in training and internships targeted at young people, women, and NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training), who are the categories that suffer the greatest difficulties in job placement, especially in Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Tunisia and Jordan.
