European and North African textile companies specializing in healthcare textiles will meet in Tunis on 31 May at the Symposium on the new Healthcare Textile Cluster in the Mediterranean.

The company, MFC POLE, Pole de Compétitivité in Monastir El Fejja (Tunis), partner of the TEX-MED ALLIANCES project and responsible for this initiative, is organizing the event in collaboration with the technological research center, Next Technology Tecnotessile.

The Symposium is open to the participation of all those companies that are either producers of textiles for healthcare use or are interested in this specialisation. The main objective is to bring together the main stakeholders of the healthcare textile sector in Europe and the Mediterranean basin to exchange ideas and visions on the development of this productive sector.

This symposium is also intended to promote the Health Textiles digital Cluster platform created during the pandemic, to offer solutions to the shortage of healthcare materials and end products detected.

The new cluster, created within the framework of the European Union project TEX-MED ALLIANCES, aims to become a tool of institutional and governmental interest that can provide a quick response to the market in health emergency situations, by offering support to the technical and technological development of medical textiles. Also, promoting innovation and inducing new capacities and competences oriented to market demand, as well as forming a network of professionals for the production and supply of local products. Its mission is to be a "space of interest and knowledge in Europe, available both to companies and SMEs related to the medical textile sector and to public-private institutions that have an impact on the medical textile sector".

According to the Symposium organizers, "this meeting offers an interesting opportunity for companies, especially SMEs, to network and share knowledge, as well as to promote their business with potential partners. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and discover products and services". In fact, if you sign up for this meeting, you will be able to learn more about innovative materials and properties for advanced solutions, key production processes, standards and certification - EU market regulation and also, you'll hear about business success stories
