MED-QUAD in Palestine transfers oriented know-how about the Civic University. Save the date of the international seminar!

The Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU), partner of the MEDiterranean QUadruple helix Approach to Digitalisation project (MED-QUAD), together with the Epimorfotiki Kilkis sm LLC (Lead beneficiary from Greece), organizes an international seminar titled “the Civic University essential role: know-how transfer oriented to local and Mediterranean community development". The seminar will take place during 20th - 21st July 2022, 9:00 AM – 15:00 PM Palestine local time, in Hebron, Palestine. 

The seminar is an opportunity to open a dialogue and cross-border exchange about the activities of civic university. 

The aim of the thematic seminar is the analysis and planning of the role, tasks and responsibilities of the Civic University in the frame of the Quadruple Helix model for innovation based on study cases from partner universities. Thus, the essential role will be presented and analysed from the perspective of the partner universities. The purpose of the seminar is also to inform and give the opportunity to the participants (teachers, students, university authorities, municipalities, SMEs, start-ups, citizens) to interact during the seminar and exchange views on how the role of the civic university is formed in the Mediterranean. 

The workshop main aspects that will be highlighted and discussed are: 

• Overview on the current cross-border cooperation and know-how transfer operation emphasizing the "Civic Universities” role in Mediterranean region. 

• Prospects for cross-border cooperation on how Civic University operation can be adapted to the local, cultural, scientific, technological reality through analysing local study cases, which allows for aligning with main objectives. 

In the MED-QUAD project, in addition to the seven core partners, which consist of the coordinating partner Epimorfotiki Kilkis sm llc (Greece) and the academic institutions: International Hellenic University (Greece), University of L'Aquila (Italy), Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport - AASTMT (Egypt), Al-Balqa 'Applied University - BAU (Jordan), Palestine Polytechnic University - PPU (Palestine), University of Sousse (Tunisia), six associated partners from the participating countries will actively participate in a supporting role. Representatives of the partners will have the opportunity to attend in person the international seminar that will take place in Hebron (Palestine); however, the local and abroad public can also participate online.  

Attendees from academia, industry, intellectuals, government local officials, developers, and postgraduate students from Mediterranean countries are invited to get to know MED-QUAD project and talk about the role of Civic University.
