Scarcity of water has always been an issue in Malta throughout its history, both for the municipal water supply and also for the needs of agricultural and industrial sectors. For this reason, projects as NAWAMED are important to contribute to tackle this challenge and build solutions. One of Malta’s main solution to this challenge was the introduction of the New Water Plants, which produce a capacity of 7million m3 of high-quality water suitable for safe crop irrigation from wastewater.

As a result of the significant work progress since the initiation of CROSSDEV and AFCP projects in Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve, the Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa showcased the excavation and the rehabilitation works that are taking place in “Qornet el Deir” and the “Roman stairs” respectively.

On Friday, 10^th of July, CROSSDEV Lebanese partner APJM (Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa) invited experts and partners on a Magical Mystery Tour to explore less-known heritage sites in the legendary Adonis Valley and Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve, protected by the General Directorate of Antiquities (DGA).

During summer 2020, CROSSDEV Jordanian partner JREDS held a number of events to raise awareness on the importance of the marine environment in Aqaba, Jordan. During the campaign hundreds of students, youth and members of the local communities took action to clean-up the beaches.

Aseel Al-Amro, a young woman and fooballer that took part in one of the events, explain the importance of such action.

Liboria Lo Brutto, Owner and Manager of homestays in Sicily, is taking part to the CROSSDEV trainings aimed at tourism stakeholders around Via Selinuntina. In her short testimonial she explains how small business owners and other tourist operators of the area need to cooperate and network in order to ensure the best possible experience to their tourists. She believes CROSSDEV is giving them the occasion to start working together towards this ambitious goal.
