MAIA-TAQA: solar thermal cooling pilot project in Aqaba begins

On 10 October 2019, a team of experts from the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) visited the building of the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce, Jordan.

The aim was to make a preliminary assessment for the installation of a solar cooling system that will drastically reduce the energy consumption of the existing chillers.

Med Pearls: a new approach to sustainable tourism

Tuesday, 19 November 2019 - The Opening Conference of the Med Pearls project was held in Barcelona at the World Heritage Site of “Hospital de Sant Pau” with a contribution of fifteen speakers from the tourism sector and about seventy attendees.

The Med Pearls project is part of the ENI CBC Med Programme of the European Commission and will work during the next 3 years to create 26 sustainable slow tourism experiences structured and managed by local agents along the 6 countries taking part in the project: the so-called "26 pearls of the Mediterranean".

Let the “GAIMS” begin: retooling tourism in the Mediterranean region

​​​On November 26 and 27, 2019 the American University of Beirut and its partners in the MED GAIMS (MED GAmifIcation for Memorable tourist experienceS) project from four countries, Lebanon, Jordan, Spain, and Italy met in Villanova, Spain to kick-off the project. The MED GAIMS is an EU funded (€2.3 million) project under the ENI CBC Med Programme for cross-border cooperation in the Mediterranean area.

MEDISS project: call for expression of interest for soil surveys and mapping in Palestine and Jordan

The Palestinian Wastewater Engineers Group, lead beneficiary of the MEDISS project (“Mediterranean Integrated System for Water Supply”), has published a call for expression of interest related to the preparation of soil surveys and mapping both in the Jordan and Araba Valleys, respectively in Palestine and Jordan.

CROSSDEV: What is sustainable tourism? A definition
