A large percentage of the rural population such as those living in the Akkar plain in North Lebanon face chronic water shortages. To address the difficulties to obtain water on a daily basis for their agricultural activities, the drilling of illegal artesian wells has become the norm.

Call for capitalisation projects: results of the administrative check
The Managing Authority informs the Applicant organisations which have submitted a proposal under the call for capitalisation projects that the administrative check has been concluded. The results, approved by the Project Selection Committee and the Joint Monitoring Committee, are available below.
