Salinas in Tunisia: an ecological and biological wealth to preserve
Salt extraction, a traditional practice in the Mediterranean, has being transforming coastal wetland landscapes for a thousand of years. In the heart of the southern Mediterranean, Tunisia hosts several salt producing sites. Today, an important exploitation of these natural resources consists in the development and valorisation of its bio-resources. Actually, salt works have been stimulating the interest of biologists for a long time, mainly due to their biological composition. Tunisia hosts two geological types of salinas: coastal and inland salinas.

Energy efficiency: learn more about the Egyptian BEEP case study "Cordahi Building"
Cordahi Building which is a part of the Cordahi complex, is privately owned and developed by Sigma Properties; a real estate developer specialized in the development and management of heritage-listed buildings. Sigma Properties – an associate partner - has agreed to involve Cordahi Building as one of the two BEEP case studies for the energy rehabilitation process. Due to neglect and lack of maintenance from previous owners, the complex was in desperate need of renovation and restoration.
