Mobility Across the Mediterranean Sea
A.3 Promotion of social inclusion and the fight against poverty
A.3.1: Provide young people, especially those belonging to the NEETS, and women, with marketable skills
MedMobility - Mobility Across the Mediterranean Sea is a newborn and growing network aimed to promote the mobility of students and young workers through the strengthening of the Mediterranean school and job guidance services network.
Main objectives:
- Support labor mobility through the cross-border mobility of students and graduates, the strengthening of information and counseling services, the preparation and testing of a specific joint training.
- Strengthen the cross-border labor market in priority cross-border supply chains linked to blue and green growth.
The project intends to contribute to strengthening the transnational labor market through the design and implementation of a cross-border guidance and mobility service for second grade secondary school students and young workers in the blue and green sectors identified by the program.
Main results to be achieved:
- Activation of joint services to favor the meeting between supply and demand and encourage student mobility in order to integrate the cross-border market in blue and green supply chains.
- Realization of internships of students / graduates for joint profiles related to the needs of companies in the cross-border priority chains and to the recovery of traditional crafts.
- Enhancement of students' personal vocations, providing an added value in the formation of the person and making other business systems and employment perspectives known after graduation, also in order to favor the working mobility of the young generations and creating the conditions for the integration of the cross-border labor market
- Empowerment and guidance to underemployed youth mainly through apprenticeships schemes and transnational mobility, with networking actions towards employers and their associations

Examples of detailed activities already carried on within MedMobility:
- Design and implementation of a cross-border training partnership that allows students to experience a work context in companies / public bodies / private bodies within the priority cross-border supply chains, also on the basis of national experimentations of school-work alternation (training internships, internships, etc.);
- Training courses for trainers, workshops and seminars (Capacity building) for teachers and sector operators (employment services, training agencies, etc.), aimed at sharing statistical indicators and trends in the labor market, tools and databases, methodologies operational and exchange of good practices
- General and specific training courses for students / new graduates before and during mobility actions, such as: language training, occupational safety, regulations and specific regulations for the areas of work of interest. The planning of training and orientation interventions will be carried out on the basis of existing European frameworks, with particular reference to ESCO (European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations), ECVET (European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training), EQAVET (European Quality Assurance in VET) and EQF (European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning). Training will also take place through the enhancement of the e-learning modules on the TRIO platform.
- Certification of specific professional skills acquired in the exchange and in the workplace.
- Dissemination through the modeling of a good practice able to guarantee replicability and transferability
- Mobility actions, which will include:
1 - Analysis of the needs on the mobility and seasonality of workers in the blue and green supply chains in the cooperation area: numbers, characteristics, employer analysis, required skills, job search channels, emerging technologies and new skills requirements, etc. The analysis will also refer to the outputs of the other projects already completed or underway within the Interreg Marittimo.
2 - Awareness raising and profiling action for target companies, including through the involvement of chambers of commerce, employment services, trade associations and any other stakeholder useful for the goals set
3 - Matching of the demand / offer meeting, including support for administrative procedures, agreements, drafting of training projects, assistance for insurance coverage, enhancement of support structures for employers and workers to facilitate insertion into workplaces in other countries .
4 - Logistical support for the identification of housing, transport and other material aspects to facilitate the mobility of students and new graduates.
MedMobility is actually a network composed by the regions Tuscany (Italy), Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (France), Sardinia (Italy) funded under the Interreg Marittime 2014-2020 Programme. A private research body (Iris Srl) is already involved to provide specific expertise in the methodological approach of the analysis of employment needs.
The MedMobility project aims to be a bridge between the world of schools, employment centers and the business world. For this reason the ideal partners are constituted by competent public authorities, networks of schools and training agencies and representatives of businesses and chambers of commerce. The lead applicant still has to be identified. We are also open to include this proposal in other larger existing projects.
To be defined based on the number of involved countries
