Italy: 'Fondazione di Sardegna' selects 25 aspiring entrepreneurs under the MEDSt@rts project

As Lead Beneficiary of the MEDSt@rts (Med microfinance support system for start-ups) project, 'Fondazione di Sardegna' (Italy) has launched a call for proposals to select 25 unemployed and aspiring entrepreneurs, interested in taking a highly innovative course.

Realised for Italy in collaboration with the partners SFIRS Spa and the Arab Italian Cooperation Chamber, the course is aimed at young and highly motivated people with innovative ideas: unemployed (18-40 years) and / or businesses in activity for a maximum of 4 years, whose associates - or owner, in case of a sole proprietorship - have an average age between 18 and 40 years. Special rewarding is provided for women and for the 24-35 age group.

The business idea, which will be rewarded with a financing support for up to 10,000 euros, may concern one or more of the following sectors: digital, agri-food, eco-design, crafts, cultural heritage, tourism and personal services.

The course will be held in Cagliari, divided into several stages with an intermediate selection.

Funded with 2,547,935.73 euros from the ENI CBC Med Program, MEDSt@rts provides a similar course in Greece, Tunisia, Palestine and Lebanon, thanks to a partnership that - with SFIRS SpA and the Arab Italian Cooperation Chamber - includes Chamber of Achaia, Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LEADERS and Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Sidon and South Lebanon, along with the European College of Parma Foundation in the role of associated partner.
