MedSNAIL - Typical local meal: Qors Al-Nar "Bread of Fire" from Al-Salt (Jordan)
TWO PROTAGONISTS OF THE MEDSNAIL PROJECT, THAT INVOLVES DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AROUND THE MEDITERRANEAN, INTRODUCE TO SOME OF THE TRADITIONAL FOODS OF RURAL JORDAN.
This one is Qors al-Nar, which means “fire bread”, made with whole flour and cooked on coal ash. Once ready it’s garnished with salted, dried yoghurt, soaked in warm water, and a mix of local ghee and onions.
All these foods are extremely simple and natural, connected to the pastoral traditions of the country
