[MEDISS] Ready to start water and soil monitoring in the Italian pilot site of Arborea, Sardinia

Ente Acque della Sardegna - ENAS (Sardinian Waterboard Company) is ready to start monitoring activities in the Italian pilot site (Arborea, Sardinia), after the conclusion of tender procedures and the installation of piezomerters and equipment for soil and water monitoring and analysis.

The Italian partner (Sardinian Waterboard Company) launched a call for tenders for the purchase of equipments and for the piezometers installation to water monitoring in the Arborea area, MEDISS pilot site (Images 1 and 2).
 

Following the conclusion of the tender in June the equipments are now available.

In September, in the area of Arborea, were been installed two piezometers for a regular monthly water monitoring. during the drilling process for the piezometers installation, Enas Team have conducted soil and water sampling  to verify soil composition and groundwater level of (images 3 and 4).

 

In January 2021, the piezometers will be used for the water sampling and analysis (images 5, 6 and 7).
 

 

ENAS will carried out water quality tests before the ammonia stripping plant installation to check water characteristics and behavior.
