Jordan: MED4EBM celebrates the World Environment Day 2021 in the Gulf of Aqaba with a clean-up campaign and painting activities

This year, the  World Environment Day was celebrated around the topic of 'ecosystem restoration´, with a mission to revive billions of hectares, from forests to farmlands, from the top of mountains to the depth of the sea. 

Under the MED4EBM project, the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS), in cooperation with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and Urbasser company has organized an environmental activity on 7th June 2021 at the Palm Beach (Ghandour) in the Gulf of Aqaba. The activity was an opportunity to remind citizens of the importance to conserve the environment and the nature and to raise awareness about protecting and saving our planet earth. Participants installed waste bins with awareness messages, a beach clean-up campaign and a painting activity. This campaign was carried out in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate, Royal Department for Environment Protection, glass-bottom boats association and several volunteers from the local community.
