The Municipality of Crevillent is a local administrative department of 28. 952 inhabitants, located in the centre of the industrial hub of the province of Alicante (Spain). Due to this specialisation and position, the municipality’s main functions amongst its ample scope of activities are the development, deployment and promotion of economic and social activities contributing to the economic and social growth. It also aims to promote and develop activities to generate stable and quality jobs, with projected direct socio-economic industry, very specialised in traditional sectors such as carpets, with a high level of innovation.
The objective is to join a project in which the Municipality of Crevillent becomes a tool for helping the development of different economic sectors, with a special interest on business and SMEs development, focusing mainly on sustainable industry and new business models for traditional industry such as carpet introducing new recycled materials.
Since the last three years, the municipality has developed a strategy focused in enhancing traditional industry sector, by promoting networking, creating a special office for industrial development, direct contact with new and existing entrepreneurs and involving the Local Development Agency with other national networks of enterprise associations.
These experiences have created certain good practices and lessons learned, that the Municipality would like to share thanks to the opportunity of ENI Capitalisation projects call for proposals.
1.Transfer and exploitation of results.
Promote the reuse and / or transfer of knowledge and the results produced by the own experience in transforming traditional industry, expanding their impact and geographic scope, as well as encouraging their replicability.
2. Reinforcement of networks.
• To create sinergies with other networks that associate both public and academic organizations and private companies, to strengthen cross-border and intersectoral cooperation in the carpet industry of shoe industry;
• Reach out and involve new target groups / types of stakeholders.

3. Strategic dissemination and sensitization of public authorities and policy makers.
• Make the knowledge and results generated by the projects more accessible, in accordance with the regulations of the national authorities, thus converting the data into knowledge;
