BEEP project supports the Italian State Property Agency in the energy improvement of one of its historic buildings

ISPC-CNR, with the presence of Minnucci Associati and IBIMI (stakeholder of the project), held a first meeting with the Italian State Property Agency (Agenzia del Demanio) to enhance the choice of one of its public buildings as a BEEP pilot.
The Italian partners have chosen the Agenzia del Demanio as one of the most advanced public entities in the use of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodology in the management of their buildings. This fact makes its activity very aligned with the objectives of the BEEP project, which wants to test this emerging technology on built heritage and demonstrate its scalability to the entire building stock.
The building proposed as the Italian pilot case is the “Palazzo del Clementino”, a prestigious Italian Renaissance palace, in the centre of Rome. This building is suitable because it has, on the one hand, great potential for energy improvement and, on the other, the commitment of its staff to cooperate in the progress of the project. It also has optimal size and distribution of spaces that facilitate its analysis and favour the application of passive energy strategies, so recommended in the Mediterranean climate.
